Infinities

Well it's official, folks.  This is my last year in Colombia teaching at Bolivar.  While I am super excited for the new adventures that await me in L.A next year, I'm going to miss my life in Colombia.  I know I still have 7 more months here, but last night someone brought up that it was our last Thanksgiving dinner at Weyers' - a tradition that Mandi and Mike had started our first year here.  From now on it will be 7 months of "lasts", and I plan on making the most of it.

I have 7 months to travel, indulge, explore, and learn.  The other side of that is I have 7 months to start saving money (L.A. ain't cheap!)  It's a fine balance of doing what I want and being realistic at the same time.  I've been cutting down on big travel, and saving up for one more big trip during Semana Santa (hopefully Bolivia!)  But you know what people say, it's not always about where you are- it's about the people you're with.  Luckily I have AMAZING friends around me and we make the moments count no matter what we're doing or where we are.

I just finished "The Fault in our Stars" by John Greene.  It is a great book and I definitely recommend it.  One of my favourite quotes from the book is "Some infinities are bigger than other infinities."  My Colombian life has been a great infinity, but it will be a smaller infinity in comparison to the rest of the life I have ahead of me. 

24 days left until Christmas vacation.  25 days until Jamaica with my dad.  2 weeks home in Markham.  6 months to live it up in Colombia.  Bring it on.
